SAVANNAH/HILTON HEAD (November 28, 2016) – WJCL ABC 22 is proud to announce a new holiday tradition – “Light the Way: Donations for the Children & Adult Victims of Domestic Violence”. The station is partnering in this effort with Tanger Outlets in Hilton Head & Savannah as well as the Tiffani Taylor Gallery and the Thibault Gallery. The partners are hoping to gather items for those people being served by Citizens Opposed to Domestic Abuse (CODA) in Beaufort, SC and Safe Shelter in Savannah, GA.
The “Light the Way” campaign kicks off Thursday December 1st at the lighting of the holiday tree at Tanger 2 in Hilton Head and will run through Monday, December 12th. WJCL will broadcast the lighting of the tree at Tanger live during its 7:00 pm newscast on December 1st. WJCL will also solicit donations in all of its newscasts during the drive.

“In this season of giving, we hope people will remember those families who are at Safe Shelter & CODA, and help them in their time of need,” said WJCL President & General Manager Tim Morrissey. “We are honored to be joined in the ‘Light the Way’ project by Tanger Outlets, Tiffani Taylor and all of our partners.”
Donations can be made at the Shopper Services offices at participating Tanger Outlets. Those making donations at Tanger will receive a free coupon book for the Outlets. Similarly, donations can be dropped off at the Tiffani Taylor Gallery at 11 Whitaker Street in downtown Savannah as well as the Thibault Gallery at 815 Bay Street in Beaufort.
Both of the galleries are also offering further support for the drive in the form of ornaments and wish lists. For that information as well as other ways to donate to the shelters and lists of the donations needed, log on to WJCL.com.
