Beginner riders and Aprilia fans, rejoice! The Italian bike manufacturer just launched a new entry-level model semi-naked motorcycle, the Tuono 125, a street fighter as aggressive looking as the bigger machine in the range.
The Tuono 125 maintains all the aggressive style of the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 while offering new riders the perfect platform to zoom around busy city streets from one stop light to the other.
Designed using Aprilia’s track experience and representing an exclusive feature in the 125 cc segment, the Tuono 125 comes with a frame consists of die cast aluminum spars with crossed reinforcement ribs.
Powering the little bike is a modern 125 cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine with four valves, electronic injection, and liquid cooling. Powerful and reliable, the engine also comes with DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft) timing.
The front fork is an upside down non-adjustable one while the rear gets a monoshock configuration to deal with the bumps. Braking at the front is done using a four-piston radial caliper biting a 300 mm disc. The other end gets a J.Juan single-piston caliper with a 200 mm disc.
Although the press release doesn’t specifically say it, the new Aprilia Tuono 125 is offered standard with ABS and is also Euro4 emission standards on the Old Continent to meet the new rules.
While still boasting content of a supersport motorcycle, the Aprilia Tuono 125 was developed privileging rider and passenger comfort: the riding position is not extreme, the handlebar is positioned to guarantee comfort and, at the same time, maximum control and complete control over the vehicle.
Another comfort feature lies in the footpegs which are designed to cut down on fatigue, while rubber inserts on the rider and passenger footpegs provide better vibration damping.
Aprilia said nothing about prices or power output for the moment but stick close to find out as more information will soon be available.
