Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national
standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally
carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a
technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee.
International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in
the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all
matters of electrotechnical standardization.International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives,
Part 2.The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International
Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting.
Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies
casting a vote.Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. ISO shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

The light source fixture shown in Figure 2 shall be positioned relative to the seat index point (SIP) as
specified in ISO 5353 with a total weight of 65 kg ±1kg. The seat shall be placed at the closest
adjustment position to the mid point of horizontal and vertical adjustment and the mid point of the
suspension height, if so equipped. For trucks with rotatable seats, the seat may be turned toward the
direction of the test being conducted. See Figure 9.6.1.2.2 Stand-on operator
The light source fixture shown in Figure 3 shall be positioned relative to the STIP. The STIP is given
for a stand-on operator in the normal operating position. The normal operating position is defined as
the operator standing on the platform and controlling all functions.Procedure to locate the STIP:
a) Determine the appropriate foot positions for the truck being evaluated;
b) The position of the ankle pivot point shall be determined by the shoe outline and the data given in
Figure 4;c) Determine the mid point of the line connecting the ankle pivot points to establish the STIP;
d) The 0º position (before any rotation of the operator’s head, shoulders, or torso) is a line through
the STIP perpendicular to the connecting the ankle pivot points as shown in Figure 4. The row of
lights may rotated + or - 135º as shown in figure 10.e) Measure the height of the STIP above the floor as well as the location of the STIP relative to a
permanent feature of the truck and record. To simulate body movement during truck operation, an adjusted STIP (ASTIP) may be

Mode opératoire de localisation du STIP:a) déterminer les positions appropriées des pieds de l'opérateur pour le chariot à évaluer;
les données indiquées à la Figure 4;c) déterminer le point médian de la ligne qui relie les points de pivotement de la cheville pour définir le STIP;
