Distribution Ceremony of Book Series of GDUFS' 50th Anniversary

On November 5th, the Distribution Ceremony of the Book Series of GDUFS’ 50th Anniversary was held on the Main Avenue on the north campus. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President YANG Aimin. Also in attendance were President ZHONG Weihe; the authors of the academic writings and relevant personnel form the Academic Research Division.

As Vice President YANG stated, the 24 academic works were published by People’s Publishing House, among which 19 are in Chinese while the other 5 are in foreign languages, covering a wide range of subjects including Linguistics, Literature, Economics, Management Science, Education, and so on. He also recalled proudly, “During last year, the Academic Research Group spared no effort in organizing the fund-raising for the publication of the academic works, so as to build up the research muscle of the university as well as gain a reputation from the whole society with the coming of the 50th anniversary of GDUFS.”

As the representative of the authors, MAO Guomin expressed his pleasure and gratitude in bringing his academic publication in front of the public. In his scholarly monograph, the method to run the “Fan Fang” and foreigners’ community was deeply concerned. For the past 50 years, teachers and researchers at GDUFS have been as hardworking and creative in exploring everything around them as MAO has been in doing his own research.

After unveiling the books with delight, President ZHONG congratulated those who made such an achievement that it would be the best birthday gift for GDUFS. Those books are not only the symbol of achievement, hard work, persistence and long-term foresight, but also the reflection of GDUFSers’ selfless contributions and deep love. Looking ahead, President ZHONG encouraged the young teachers to aim high, as there are many hot social issues to be dug through, while those successful old teachers should remain peaceful in the face of fame and gain, since still water runs deep.
